Some do it because they like the other person and have the idea that this casual "relationship" will bloom into something else. Which sometimes it does, but the majority of the time, no.. no it does not. Never engage in a Friends with Benefits agreement if you are just trying to make a relationship out of it because you will end up falling farther for the person and will end up hurt worse off than you were before.
Why not? That's what brings a lot of people into this situation. One person will ask the other and this person will say to themselves "sure why not, it will be fun!".. and usually yes, it is fun.. in the beginning, but then all of sudden you look and all you are is each others side hoes until one you two finds another person (that they actually want something real with) and dump the other one on the curb.
"We are just friends, we won't catch feelings"... This one is just pure stupidity! #1.. If you two do decide to be "sex buddies", that changes your relationship forever, you can never go back to just being "good ole buddies" cause you two will look at each other and have flashbacks to everything you two have done. #2... In the situation that you do catch feelings than what do you do? Do you tell him and possibly ruin whatever friendship is left or do you hide it and slowly fall more & more in love until he breaks it off along with breaking your heart? Either way either you get hurt or you potentially lose a "friend".. either option is not a good one.
